The joy of Amazon

I've been on Amazon. I only went on to see if the new Kate Bush album was coming out on vinyl. Seems it is (whoopee!) so that's been well and truly shoved on the Christmas list. Only problem is I seem to have come away with the Ian Siegal album and Marillion's new live CD, despite swearing blind I wasn't going to buy either.

Thing is, Marillion are releasing this CD (which is essentially the soundtrack to a DVD I already own) on iTunes, with a bonus track. Now I'm not big on this whole downloading thing (did the vinyl fetish not give it away?) so I thought, I know, I'll buy the CD and just download the bonus track - best of both worlds. Alas, no, for Apple in their infinite wisdom has made the deal such that you only get the bonus track if you buy the whole album in etheral nothingness mode. Well that sucks. And even blows. In fact it injests and subsequently distributes air in any number of independent directions. So yah-boo to them all, I'm not buying it. Only now I have. Bugger.

Lesson for today : I have no will of my own.

The Ian Siegal album, well, truth be told I've been dead good on that one. Been watching him live for years, and playing the one recorded track I have of him every so often just to convince myself that a white Englishman *can* play the goddam blues properly. It's a miracle really that the CD has, with my knowledge, been available for upwards of two months without my purchasing it. See? I am a good boy after all.....

Lesson two for today : Self delusion is at least as good as willpower.
